 Lightning’s Side

Well, hello there, how are you today? I find it interesting that a human would be so intrigued as to know about the perspective of Lightning, the grand ole friend of my good fellow Zeus! What triggers such a curiosity within thee might I implore?  

     Well, none the less, if one is curious, were humans not given free will to experience and venture upon curiosity? Allow me to familiarize you with my perspective that you are so intrigued by. My, where to begin…. ah yes! Let me start with where might I come, and what might I be?

     Allow, if I may, if I begin with how I manifest to show. When the skies are filled with the tenebrous, puffy clouds that begin to drift inward with a languid grace, I very well may join along.  I have a particular environment that I like to bring myself to, so I am not always there every time you see. In order to pique my interest in displaying my presence, I would delightfully enjoy when my fellow element of water is there in a specific mood for the evening. I certainly find entertainment when my grand peer comes in his form of ice crystals and water droplets. Oh my, he does the most entertaining jig for us all in the party at the cloud! He collides the ice crystals together with the rain water droplets within the cloud. This in turn creates both positive and negative charges and the contradicting energies just tickle my fancy! It really gets the electrons in me completely roused in fervor! 

      When water stirs me to life, it really makes me glow.  I just can't help myself, but to expel my enthrallment from his performance. This is where Earth may come in. She is my lovely delightful friend and a good lady she is as well. Earth, my she helps to ground me, she gives me a place to project the electrifying effect of my delights. This is when I may reveal myself to you! I display my show and express my laughter in booms of thunder. I surely do hope that you enjoy my artful display! I know, I know sometimes I may create some mayhem, but that's just me playing my part, if you may find your forgiveness and understanding. 

      You may have also heard of my association with Zeus. Yes, this fine king and I had shared a great friendship for a long time. I battled along his side faithfully in wars against the underworld for many years. My many memories come to mind when I think of those times, but I don't think that we should get so deep into such a conversation.  So if I may change the topic onto another point shall we? 

      I may bring my dangers to some extent, but who doesn't in excess or the wrong place? Am I wrong? Everything and everyone holds their own individual set of risks to the presence of their existence, but let us think of what I have brought to you to improve your life. 

      Now, I am almost certain to place money on a bet, that you may have heard the horrifying rumors of the incident between Benjamin Franklin's illegitimate son, and I.  If you may allow me, I must inform you that I hold no pride in the results of this particular event, nor any situation parallel to it. I could not resist, as if you’ll remember I am only energy and a response to physics. I hold no free will like you humans! Benjamin Franklin had his poor dear son run out with that kite and key in set. I felt the tickle within me when water was doing his crystal, water collision dance. I could feel the electrons tickling and I saw that metal key on that kite. It just gave me the easiest route down to my dearest friend Earth! I am enslaved to the laws of physics dear friend, please understand! And so of course, the results had occurred as they did. It was not me who asked for this event may we remember. 

     But, allow me to shift your focus elsewhere to something a little more, uplifting of this matter. Think of all that has come of this in later years to come. After this man, Mr. Franklin, has figured out how to capture me, many things have come about my assistance to you.  I have no desire to harm. I am after all, only what I am. 

      Think of the way refrigerators manifested to a norm of almost every home allowing a more luxurious life with food. Allow yourself to ponder on the thought of how I may have progressed not only your homes, but all structures of all varieties. Due to me, you have electricity to supply those hot water heaters of yours, oxygen machines in hospitals, and life support machines as well. Or how about all of those factories of yours or those fancy cars! What beautiful creations you humans have made for me to explore, and there is just so much more that we could review. Although for now, I think it'd be best that we be inspired to bring an end at this point, before I get off into one of my perpetual rants. 

       So if you may allow me, this may be a merry part. I am sure you have plans yourself. So I hope that I may have given you a view of this perspective of mine, that you so desired, and that you may as such feel satisfied.
