About
I’m a writer who blends creativity with realistic insight, crafting stories that spark thought and connection. My work reflects curiosity about the world and a commitment to clarity, curiosity and authenticity. I value both the emotional resonance of storytelling and the strategic side of building ideas that last. Writing allows me to share perspectives shaped by resilience, and a drive to keep learning. Beyond the page, I’m always seeking new ways to bring meaning into everyday experiences.
A little bit about me personally, I'm a mom of a young girl, a wife, and a businesswoman. I co-own a construction business with my husband, and we are general contractors by day. By evening I tend to sit down and write or spend time playing with my daughter when we aren't pulling together estimates. I partially started writing out of a curiosity that formed in my younger years watching my mother be a writer. My mother was a sickly woman who could not work, and she wound up resulting back to writing, a hobby she had for coping through a traumatic childhood. I find a little piece of honoring her in every time that I write. A woman who inspired me in so many ways, in addition to raising me to the woman that I am.
As a businesswoman I have my own business I'm trying to build as well. Before working construction with my husband, I worked in the restaurant industry. Originally a plan since childhood for enjoying an industry I loved while going to college for medicine, life turns came about that changed my path forever. I wound up in restaurant for my career instead of medicine. I did give medicine a try, but between my compassionate soul that struggles to keep disconnect from those I care for, and the corruption that can occur, it was best to step back to something I could maintain my sanity with. With my experience in the hospitality industry, I grew a strong passion from the internal piece of me that is a people pleaser. It' not always a bad thing to be a people pleaser after all. I learned in hospitality and medicine that we just have a specific place in this world.
So, in the future as I build my writing, finally finish one of my books that are works in progress, and gain a little more success from our construction business, Snyder Scriptorium will become more than a blog. In the future years to come, we are building towards buying a large farm property. I have already established my business and formed it for hospitality and publishing. I plan to turn Snyder Scriptorium into a booklover oasis that can provide a unique experience for book lovers. I plan to have a farm bed and breakfast with reading nooks throughout, a path to walk filled with blue berry bushes and apple trees and strawberry vines you can freely pick from while visiting the farm animals in pastures. I also plan to make Snyder Scriptorium a farm to table restaurant included. I worked at a bed, and breakfast resort called the Glassbern Inn (glassbern is Pennsylvania dutch for glass barn) that certainly inspired me on this. I believe that between my experience, knowledge, passion, and personality that I can build an oasis that feels like another world to escape away to.
