1. Coyoteland by Vanessa Hua

           If you are into the idea reading about the downfall of the rich who live their lavish lives, this is     definitely one of those books to help feed those feelings. A family starts to make it a little bit and     moves to a beautiful suburb.  Although the children don't seem to be entirely on board.  As the daughter attempts to maneuver her way through the cliques in the area, a coyote attack happens that's suspicious.  The daughter of the family teams up with another girl in similar situation and they begin to unravel the underground corruption of their area, including their own families.

2. The Library After Dark by Andi Pliego

    The main character Aria works at a book shop and carries a passion for books. She meets a gentleman that wins her heart and wants to take her on a date.  He decides to take her to an old library museum, where it turns out Aria has more connection to than he realizes.  She holds a dark secret within this place.  The tour winds up trapped inside of the library where Aria's dark secret resides, and she needs to maneuver getting out without revealing her dark secret.

3. Dissection of a Murder by Joe Murray
    Lisa is a defense attorney and winds up with a prestigious client requesting her.  This client refuses to accept representation from anyone else, only her.  She winds up finding out her husband is the defense attorney for the other side.  This takes its toll on her marriage.  In addition, as the case unfolds, she needs to find a way to keep from her own old past secrets from being revealed.

4. Caller Unknown by Gillian McCallister
    Simone is close with her daughter Lisa and wants to spend some quality mother daughter time with her before she takes off to adulthood in college.  They take a vacation to Texas and when Simone wakes up after the first evening, she immediately notices that her daughter is gone.  She sees an unfamiliar cell phone on the table and notices it has a voicemail.  When she listens, it is a kidnappers ransomed for her daughter.  When she meets the kidnapper assuming they want money, it turns out they want her daughter to complete a series of tasks for them.  Simone is stuck facing the brinks of staying within her morality as she fights to keep her daughter safe from danger.

5. Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout

        A man reaches the end of his life and becomes depressed.  He begins to think about ending his life when a near death experience happens to him. He nearly dies in a boating accident.  Taking death to feel alive this shifts his views on life.  He begins review his marriage, his father and son relationship. Over a set of 200 pages, you see how this near-death experience takes him down memory lane and a transition in his life.
